The Meeting of the Minds

From AccessNorthGA.com and the Associated Press

At first I thought this was another Carrey/Daniels sequel. But no, it is just another roll out of the predictible left Glockenspiel Road Show. This particular installment was brought to us by Jimmy "See my staff run when my book comes out" Carter, and Maddie NotBright.

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said Thursday that through the war in Iraq the United States has lost its moral authority, and it will be up to the next president to restore the "goodness of American power."

Excuse me Madame (e intended) NotRight. The goodness of American Power needs to be restored in the Congress. It is your party that has screwed things up continuously since the days of office of your former boss, Jimmy Carter. 444 days he let Iran, you know Iran the we want to exterminate Israel Iran these days. Back then they raid our embassay hold hostages for 444 days and what did Carter do? Nothing.

Then one of your next bosses, the wonderful ejaculator in chief only did anything in the way of the goodness of American power when he needed to give the world something else to look at besides a blue dress.

The goodness of American Power has liberated millions, and yes the final solution is not done, nor is it perfect, but one simple question (that you and your ilk will never answer) stands, what has your party done to help these millions? Your party's current solution to using American Power is to surrender in Iraq, cut and run, toss in the towel, succumb, yield, relinquish, capitulate, what ever the name of the day is in your party, it is still surrender. And with this wonderful display of American Power that your party suggests, upon our departure, the vultures will swoop in and the killing fields of Cambodia, of Rwanda, of Bosnia will be played out yet again. All because of your ignorance and cowardice.

Two paragraphs later:

"We have lost the element of goodness in American power, and we have lost our moral authority," she said. "The job of the next president will be to restore the goodness of American power."

Again, it is the Congress that is lost in general, and your party specifically. Our Moral Authority is quite intact, thank you very much. Afganistan harbored the leaders of the group that attacked our Nation, the ruling party would not surrender them so they were placed on par with Al Qaida and the Taliban was removed, the people of that country are now able to (in most places) vote for their future.

Later they wind up Jimmy:

He said the "unwarranted invasion" of Iraq resulted in bombing that has killed tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians.

Wow, he's pretty damn good at this. I didn't read his book, not worth my time but the articles outlining his book, the resignation of staff over the book, the outrage from those that used to think him a friend, now that's entertaining reading. But I digress, in one sentence he's managed two slights of hand. First: "Unwarrented invasion", it was warrented, and long overdue. Saddam, The [wikipedia:Butcher_of_Baghdad], had been fought back into his own borders in Gulf War Part 1. That war never ended, there was no peace treaty, no final settlement, only a cease fire, granted when Saddam's government signed off on meeting the unconditional terms of the UN. He never did meet the terms of the UN, the UN passed numerous resolutions, all of which he chose to ignore. (Which as a side note is exactly what is happening in Iran on this date) Unwarrented? All around the globe, nations believed he had WMD, he wouldn't allow inspectors, he wouldn't doccument what he had and/or how it was destroyed. All the while he talks and acts like he has these materials, he in fact has used WMD's on more than one occassion in the past. Unwarrented? Saddam gave financial support to known terrorist organizations, what's to say he wouldn't give WMD's to these same organizations. His country hosted known terrorists, his country was the training ground for terrorist groups. Unwarrented? I guess trying to free the hostages in Iran during your term was Unwarrented as well. The survival of the citizens of Israel is unwarrented? "resulted in bombing that has killed tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians"? What a baffoon, what a dunce. Has our military action killed civilians? Most certainly, and that is unfortunate, it's a flipping war damn it. But the vast majority of deaths of civilians has been caused by our enemy and the enemy of a free Iraq. They slaughter civilians in the hopes that brain dead mental midgets like Jimmy Carter will get weak in the knees. Which for him especially is a very short trip.

But wait, he has even more jewels (kitty clusters) of wisdom:

Carter, who also has been critical of U.S. military action in Iraq, said that since Albright was secretary of state, "there has been a reduction almost all over the world in trust and esteem by foreigners toward Americans."

Can you blame them? They don't trust us because on the one hand we try to stand for what's right. Freedom from being killed, pulled out of your house and being dumped into a mass grave. Freedom to try to help direct your own life and the future of your country. But then in mid-stride, you have the carpet yanked out from under you. It happened in Iraq the first time, it is happening again. The democrats are "crafting" (crayons are in the craft department, does that mean they are using crayons?) a new plan, reduce/remove the troops, limit their funding and backup, change their mission. All in the typical [wikipedia:revisionist_history] style.

Personally esteem and love, I don't give a rats ass. I want good countries around the globe to know they have an friend they can count on, and the bad ones, I want them to lay awake at night hoping they didn't piss us the F off. This is the entire problem with the United (dysfunctional) Nations. It is made up of good nations and also a whole slew of bad nations. Before the the ouster of Saddam, the UN was to have Iraq chair the UN Conference on Disarmament. Here's a news flash, hey UN if you want to allow the dictators, drug runners and murderers of the world into your little club. How about they have only a sit down and shut up roll, maybe a few will learn the right way to behave? I doubt it though, it's better to be part of the process, you know skimming money off of the top of programs like oil for food and such. What a currupt outfit that is, it makes our Congress almost look saintly (but not quite).

Later in the article there is a defence of his book. He suggests that people go to the middle east and see if his discriptions are accurate or not. Maddie had this to offer:

She said she agrees with Carter that it is necessary to recognize the legitimate rights of Palestinians and territorial integrity and that the United States must play a major role in bringing about a peace agreement.

Last I checked we pretty much have a policy of not working with terrorist organizations, and since 1/2 of the Palestinian Government is controled by such an organization, it makes it tough for us to play a major role. If we do so, it is validating terrorism, kinda like surrendering in Iraq validates terrorism. Also, Israel I believe has offered all of this and more, the terrorists on the Palestinian side are the road block, they will not be happy with anything short of all the land and all of the Jews dead, period, end of subject.

So the Glockenspiel Road Show came to a close and Jimmy and Maddie were wrapped up in their protective covers and placed in their shipping crates to move on to the next stop in their magical mystery tour. Too bad the stakes are so high, otherwise this would be entertaining.
