Super Bowl XLIII delivered a great game, some commercials were very well done, others were not suitable for kids to be watching, and others were just a waste of money in my opinon.
The game was very good, but penalties controlled the game. Had the Cardinals not committed so many penalties they could have probably come out on top. Had the Steelers not committed so many penalties the game would probably not have been so close. Had the ball not been turned over at the end of the first half and run 100 yards for a touchdown……. you see where I’m going with this don’t you?
It’s a game, and in all sports, all games, even in life there is a certain amount of luck involved. In the NBC Pregame show, just before kickoff the panel and field reporters were polled on who they thought would win. The one comment that I thought was out of place, and pretty much classless was:
"Unlike last year's Super Bowl, this year's Super Bowl will be won by the best team," Harrison said, "and that's the Pittsburgh Steelers."
-Rodney Harrison – New England Patriots
In case you have forgotten who Harrison is, and what he is referring to. The Patriots in their quest for the perfect season, thinking perhaps they would have a cakewalk against the 5th seed Giants. To be honest, I thought that the Patriots would win as well, they had had a very good season, but the one thing I did note going into the game, the Pats seemed to be cooling off toward the end of the season, and the Giants seemed to be taking off.
Like last night’s game, game on the line, (although the Steelers could have forced OT with a field goal, the Giants HAD to get the TD). Eli had the play of his life, escaping the sack, throwing the pass into coverage, only to have his receiver upstage him with an even more miraculous catch.
If we are to believe Rodney Harrison, the best team did not win last year. Excuse me Mr. Harrison, the numbers at the end of the game are the ONLY measure of who was best for that game. Perfection is very rarely obtained, (Only once thus far in the NFL) and to whine about losing, having this bitter axe to grind, especially when you are the dude that DID NOT knock the ball down or out of Tyree’s grasp, you sound like a child that needs to be sent to his room. Grow the heck up, go cash your large paycheck you get for playing a game, (since your TV abilities probably won’t carry you far), tell Tyree what he did, he made one heck of an outstanding (maybe even lucky) catch under pressure, he busted you, he beat your team. Suck it up and get ready for next season.
