So now I'm a Holocaust Denier?

From the Boston Globe (Trotters?)

Ya Know, there are papers that are decidedly liberal, left leaning, etc. Well this little roll of TP from the land of "K" (Kennedy, Kerry and Frank), has an Op-Ed columnist by the name of Ellen Goodman that has managed to put together in less than 20 paragraphs the most repulsive display in print that I've see in a while. But then consider where it is printed.

By every measure, the U N 's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change raises the level of alarm. The fact of global warming is "unequivocal." The certainty of the human role is now somewhere over 90 percent. Which is about as certain as scientists ever get.

Well first off Ellen, the globe is either going to be warming (that means the temperature on average is increasing), or, cooling (that means the temperature on average is decreasing). It never has, and never will stay the same. The average temperature on the planet has been far below what we have seen in our lifetimes, and it has also been far above as well. Ask the Vikings about 1000 years ago what the weather was like when they inhabited Greenland. What was the cause of that warming period Ellen? Oh but I know, the anoited experts have said, we are pretty sure that global warming is man made. They can't even forecast weather 5 days in advance, and you take thier prognostication and reading of entrails as gospel?

I would like to say we're at a point where global warming is impossible to deny. Let's just say that global warming deniers are now on a par with Holocaust deniers, though one denies the past and the other denies the present and future.

So I'm on par with a Holocaust Denier? If that is true then you and your ilk must be on par with Dr. Joseph Goebbels. You spread your view, with incomplete examination of all data, corrupt interpretation (hockey stick graph), exclusion of information that would dispute the theory. Then you have the nerve to say that anyone that doesn't belive your view is on par with being a Holocaust denier?

Well Ellen, listen up, you obviously got into this too late for No Child Left Behind. First, the Holocaust happened in the past, to the majority of the world (Outside of the peace loving paradise known as Iran) the Holocaust is a documented fact. Man Made Global Warming on the other hand, is a thesis. So to say someone that doesn't believe in your version of global warming is on par with denying the Holocaust, is laughable at the very least.

Yes I guess we should all just follow lock step behind the 75% of the "College-Educated" Democrats that you cite in your, ahem, work, after all your party's roll of college graduates has such a clear view of the world. The former congresswoman from Georgia, Cynthia McKinney is a college grad, should we have followed her? Durbin? Frank? Pelosi? Murtha? Any of these? They, like you, only speak in political speak, they, like you, know nothing of the science, they only know what their agenda is and try to mold the issue to make their agenda work. Period, end of subject, follow the money, show me the money, be the money. The only reason there are 75% of the Democrats lined up on the issue is because they are lined up against the President to yet again, oppose, obstruct, try to gain more power now and in the next elections, and to try to make him look bad. Whatever, I don't care, the future will judge the President far better than any given toad in Congress can or will, and frankly I think in the long run he will be proven more right than congress.

So, back to what I have said in earlier posts, I think the planet is getting warmer, hopefully that at least means I'm not on par with Holocaust deniers. After all I'd hate to be on the same level as the nut job that is running Iran. I do also believe that the planet is getting warmer at least in large part, if not totally, due to the natural cycle of the planet, sun and cosmos. The problem I have with the the UN Panel, other than it comes from the UN which is short for Lets Collect A Lot Of Money, Give the Money to Our Friends and Family, Not Really Do Anything, and Act Important. (Now you know why they chose UN instead, a lot easier to write and remember) They don't speak much to the cycles of the planet or sun, they certainly don't mention the polar Ice melting on Mars as well, do they? They didn't happen to mention the increased numbers and intensity of storms on other planets, Saturn and Jupiter did they? How about the documented increase in solar energy output? Unprecedented sun spot activity? No? Gee what a surprise, after all it is a Slam Dunk, that global warming is man made.

So even if it is man made, what's the solution, sign Kyoto? What would that do in relationship to global warming, anything? The short answer is not much if anything. Our emission rate has increased at a rate of about 7%/year while other countries, specifically China, the number 2 country in emissions by amount, have an increase in emissions of approximately 25%/year and are not even required to consider Kyoto. Why are they not requred to sign Kyoto? Have you asked that question? Because the unit of measure is based on per-capita. But if we are trying to cut the amount of CO2 going into the atmosphere, it should be just that right? The amount of CO2, not the amount of CO2 divided by the population of your country. (Side note, I wonder if they included all of the illegal aliens in our per capita numbers?) If your answer is sign Kyoto, you have either shown yourself to be a dunce or a lemming, which is it? The politics of Kyoto is flawed from the beginning, even if global warming was caused by man made emissions, (which it probably isn't) cutting the US emissions by using Kyoto would harm our economy and standard of living, pass money to others in a giant Ponzi Scheme, and also would not reduce emissions enought to change anything even IF it were contributing, while countries like China would simply go on thier merry way.

In closing, I have to say I'm getting pretty tired of hearing liberal bloviators (should that be bloviettes in this case?) trying to squelch any opinion that is opposed to their sacred cow by slinging mud, calling names, and in this case relating one thing to something as serious as the Holocaust. Totally uncalled for, totally wrong, totally tasteless and classless. So I guess the real question is, does she really believe what she wrote, or is she just another in the long line of people that believes the end justifies the means? Again, is she just another dunce or simply a lemming, or worse is she part of the propaganda machine?

This great divide comes from the science-be-damned-and-debunked attitude of the Bush administration and its favorite media outlets. The day of the report, Big Oil Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma actually described it as "a shining example of the corruption of science for political gain." Speaking of corruption of science, the American Enterprise Institute, which has gotten $1.6 million over the years from Exxon Mobil, offered $10,000 last summer to scientists who would counter the IPCC report.

Hey Ellen? Is that the American Enterprise Institute that has demanded a correction/retraction on the original story, and has fully documented the correct position on their website? You can read it here. Of course one Op-ed article is one thing, but when the the Democratic Juggernaut gets moving it can be as hard to stop as a stubborn jackass. We had no fewer than four US Senators (Sanders, Feinstein, Leahy, Kerry) citing the article, even after it had been pointed out to be wrong. Gee what a surprise. The fast food society will lap up the drivel, and move on, the retractions and corrections, and fake appologies will go unnoticed by the masses and those that make the attacks know it and count on it...... so Ellen which is it, dunce, lemming or propagandista?
