RIP Earl Woods

Friday, May 05 2006 - UnderAware Blog

Wednesday May 3, 2006 the body of Earl Woods lost the battle with the cancer that had returned in 2004. Mr. Woods was known to anyone that follows golf, and many who don't, as the father of Tiger Woods. I hope that even through the battle, he was able to see, hear and feel his son's actions and words, both on and off the links. In those words and actions are the foundation that Earl Woods laid.

My condolences to the Woods Family, and my profound thanks to Earl Woods for showing this father how it should be done. Rest well Earl Woods.

"I make it very, very clear that my purpose in raising Tiger was not to raise a golfer. I wanted to raise a good person," Woods told Golf Digest magazine about his book, "Training a Tiger: A Father's Guide to Raising a Winner in Both Golf and Life."
