Obama snubs vets, skips Heroes ball

From WorldNetDaily

On the evening after the inauguration, the President and First Lady made the rounds to some of the balls given in their honor.  One thing of interest to me is they chose to hang with the stars, rather than visiting the ball hosted by by the American Legion and co-sponsored by 13 other Veteran’s groups.  A fine example set in the first 24 hours of change. (Not)

Since its inception in 1953, every new president has attended The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball – until now.

The ball was created for President Dwight Eisenhower's inauguration to honor recipients of the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest military award. The event is sponsored by the American Legion and co-sponsored by 13 other veteran's service organizations, including the Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

And while 48 of the nation's 99 living recipients of the Medal of Honor attended the event,  newly sworn-in President Barack Obama became the first president in 56 years to skip out on the ceremony.

The administration instead sent the plagiarist in chief, Joe Biden to attend instead.  Let’s see, the President is the Commander in Chief, the VP is……. the VP.  Half of the currently living Medal of Honor recipients were in attendance at this ball, I’ll grant they probably weren’t as attractive as a (braless?) Beyonce.

The American Legion released the following statement:

"President Obama was invited but did not attend. Vice-President Joe Biden did appear, however, and was very warmly received. The new President's absence was understandable considering the unprecedented logistical challenges presented by the vastly increased number of visitors to this inauguration and the necessary attendant security measures. The American Legion, as an organization, does not feel offended or 'snubbed.'"

And what were they supposed to say, We invited him and feel totally dissed?

Yep, change has come to Washington, tell the Nation in your inauguration address that you must be responsible and sacrifice, but be the first President in 55 years to not stop in at the Heroes ball, sorry but that room was filled with people that understand responsibility, sacrifice, honor and respect.
