Brave Military, Cowardly Congress. Or.....re-deployment, the neo-social lingo for SURRENDER

From CNN

Harry Reid, (D-Nevada), has some profoundly incorrect thoughts on Iraq.

"This war is a serious situation. It involves the worst foreign policy mistake in the history of this country," Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nevada, told CNN's "Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer."

The article goes on to say:

Asked whether he considers it a worse blunder than Vietnam, Reid responded, "Yes."

Comparing Vietnam to Iraq, is like comparing Pine Ridge to the standoff at Waco, TX. Two different things. Getting into Vietnam may or may not have been a mistake, the huge mistake in Vietnam was not letting the military do their job (sound familiar?) and then surrendering.  So Pelosi, Murtha and Reid want Iraq to be just like Vietnam, and they can do it on GWB's dime, that plays into their power play. On the other hand, when compared to Vietnam, in Iraq there was excellent cause and justification to invade, but again the military has had its hands tied not so much by the enemy, which is a tough enemy, but by the know-it-alls in Washington, the UN and at the news desks around the world.

"Worst foriegn policy mistake"? Harry "Desert Land Deal" Reid must have been busy watching prize fights when Bill Clinton sat on his hands and nearly one million Rwandans were slaughtered. He must have been looking over his land holdings when Bill Clinton blew up some abandoned terrorist training camps. Guess Dirty Harry missed the fact that his former party leader, husband to Hillary the chickenhawk, was offered OBL on a platter and didn't take it, on several occasions. If we had captured or eliminated OBL and his entourage, there is a good chance we would still have the twin towers and other buildings that were destroyed. over 3000 9/11 deaths could have been prevented, we wouldn't have had to go to war, and all of these political stunts (stunts as in a waste of time and money, poor showmanship, amateurish unstatesmanlike bull, like we have seen this week by the likes of Pelosi, Murtha and Reid) would never have been needed. So Harry, it's convienient for you to yet again exagerate, mistate the truth, out and out lie, or just reveal that you are a total moron. You have a stage, you have willing helpers in some parts of the media that will spew your lies and falicies, hence the general public that gets this jammed down their throats thinks what you are saying is true. So what's the truth?

Well to begin with, we didn't go into Iraq to catch and kill Al Qaida, although they WERE there, along with other terrorists when our guy's boots hit the ground. We went in there to clean up unfinished business from the first Gulf War. Saddam had agreed to a cease fire, but then didn't follow through with his end of the deal. The United (Dictatorial) Nations would persue the Iraq issue whole heartedly, any surprise, hell half a million people chopped to pieces and the UN (Kofi Annan) still sat on their hands. Then after the fact we find influential people in the countries that opposed action against Iraq are getting some extra spending change working with Sadam doing the end around on the oil for food program. Read more on the Iraq Oil for Food Program here.

We did think that Saddam still had the capability to make, if not still had WMD's. He refused to document his programs, allow inspectors to do their work in an unimpeeded fashion. He used language that seemed to refer to the use of these weapons, and most damning, he used chemical weapons to take revenge on civilians in Halabja. So we thought he had it, most of the other world powers thought he had it, we have found some (yes your read right, we have found some WMD in Iraq, won't hear that on CBS or CNN or in the NY Times).  If he did have this stuff, what if he decided to use it?  What if the demented dictator got more demented?  What if he sold it off?  If he did have it, where did if go, and where will it rear its ugly head again?

Don't take my word on Reid mistating the reasons for going into Iraq, read through the entire Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq , there are 23 "Whereas" points, points that outline the reason that force should be used. 23, one did say that Al Qaida members were known to be in Iraq, which they were known to be there, and were. They fled to Iran when the troops came towards them in northern Iraq.

Nevermind Harry, that Saddam paid money to support terrorists and allowed well known terrorist to move freely and live in his little slice of heaven. Nevermind the fact that his military routinely shot at or targeted overflights of the no fly zones. Zones that were established because after the UN, US and coalition backed down after Gulf War 1, he wanted to kill off the troublemakers. Never mind that Sadam and his sons were responsible for the deaths and disappearance of hundreds of thousands, the use of chemical weapons, on military and civilians, the brutal tourture and murder and mass graves, never mind all of that.

So Harry, using your logic, I guess we never should have entered the European theater of the Second World War, and as far as the Pacific theater, well we were attacked so I guess you would have made a show of it, but where would you have cut and run, to "stop the war", and "save our troops"? You may have had enough intestinal fortitude to handle Guam or Guaducanal, both in the 1500 troops lost category. Leyte Gulf, that probably would have gotten your attention, 2800 fine Americans gave their lives there. How about Saipan, going on 3500 troops there, getting weak knees? We lost roughly 7700 on Iwo Jima, you bailing out then? But I'm sure you would have been wringing your hands over Okinawa, 12500 members of the Army, Navy and Marines died on that rock. Do you understand why Harry, by your actions I think not.

I may have a mocking tone in my voice, but it is certainly not directed toward the military. In the 1940's, 1950's, the 60's 70's, every decade, they are given crap by know all politicians, that know nothing, that have big egos, and small sacks (of common sense that is). The military ensures that you can collect your six figure income, perks, and benefits Harry, yet you will not give them what they need and on top of that at every turn, you treat them with contempt while saying you are there strongest supporters. The extent of your mental genius is a 100 word non binding resolution that basically signals surrender to our enemy, while you offer not other, nor have you ever offered any other solution. It's Bush's war. Sorry Harry, Congress signed the authorization, so it is your war now, if you don't have a plan, that's fine, I don't want you to hurt yourself, just sit down and shut up. If you are so stinking strong, why didn't you give them what they needed 5 years ago? (Easy answer, the Bush plan in Iraq probably would have suceeded and Lord knows you wouldn't want that to happen.) So instead you undercut the plan, bad mouthed it, invented, exagerated, leaked info that should not be made public. All for political gain, never mind the fact that Iraq needed to be dealt with, (because Clinton and the UN didn't) never mind now that over 8 million Iraqis have tried to follow a path similar to how our country was founded, by going to the polls, trying to elect people that hopefully will work together and create something that they have never had there. A form of democracy, the ability to develop and flourish to own something, to not have to live in fear that you will be taken away in the night, that you can have your own religion. No before that can really come about, you and the brainless cowards that follow you want to undermine the President, and more importantly turn your back on the Iraqi civilians, and if anything can even be worse than that, you want to help our enemy, make them stronger, give them the feeling that they can come here to our house again and do even worse than 9/11. I don't give a rats butt for the politicians in Iraq, many of them are probably like you, worthless. The plain people, the moms and dads that want better lives for themselves and their kids, they are the ones you are trying to turn your backs on. And if you succeed, I hope their death screams wake you each and every night for the reast of your life. Because if you surrender in Iraq, that is what you are trying to do, the Iranians will step in, Al Qaida will step in, the Syrians will step in, and there will be mass murder, like when we left Southeast Asia, like what your former party leader Bill Clinton watched from the sidelines in Rwanda.

These are tough times, the decisions are equally tough, there is no black or white, but there is right and wrong. War is truely hell, and it doesn't need your help to make it so, but thanks for your efforts, duely noted. War will never go as planned, but when you as a leader have no plan, how dare you say that this isn't working? Your current proposal is wrong from the get-go. You mis-state the facts, purely to make your position look stronger. Unfortunately there is the public that doesn't know any better, and also the public that like you, think that taking up arms is never a solution, and then there are the brain dead idiots that no matter what, if it has to do with Bush it must be wrong. War and military action is a solution when your nation is attacked, it is a solution when a brutal dictator behaves as Saddam had. If you don't see that, or believe in the use of force, your should be removed from office, and never again be allowed to hold any office of distinction in this great country. All of the supporters of this surrender policy, this cut the funding, cut and run, turn your back on the Iraqi population policy, you are all under oath to serve the Constitution, to protect and defend it, to protect our Nation and her people and interests. My gut feeling is this, all that you do is for political gain, for you and your party, not for the Nation, therefore you have and are violating your oath of office, your path will cause grave damage to Iraq, to our military, to the credibility of our Nation, it will help the enemy that has brought death to our country and very likely will lead to more attacks on the streets in our Nation.

Do I want our troops home, YOU BET, but after their work is done, unimpeaded by the worthless power mongering politicians. I want Iraq to be at least stable, if not well on the road to recovery. I want the source of the "civil war" erradicated, that being the outside influences of Iran and Syria. If it takes a year, fine, two years, if there is good progress being made, not the CNN or NY Times version of progress but real measurable progress. (Side: in two years, the NY Times might just be a monthly crossword magazine.) I want this war fought, I want the evil people that have stated to our faces, that they will either make us live our lives thier way, or kill us, I want them defeated. I have no interest in negotiating with a country that denies the right of another country to exist, that continuously threatens the destruction of Isreal and the USA. I want OBL and his 2nd in command, the guy with the perfect target on the his forehead, found. Most of all, I want the cowardly, money grabbing power mongers of the US government to be retired without benefits. It's not like they are doing any real work right now anyway.

So Harry, Hilary, Nancy, John, and all of the others that think surrender is the solution, this knife is for you:
